For the next 19 hours or so, Verizon Wireless customers can purchase the Samsung Fascinate, a Galaxy S device, from the wireless carrier for only $99 upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement with the carrier.

The price cut was put in place for today alone, and would require users to commit to a voice plan, along with a data option on the carrier's airwaves.

The offer is part of a series of deals that Verizon would put in place for its users for the next 10 days, ahead of Valentine's Day.

Each and every day, another deal would be put in effect on the carrier's website, here.

Today, however, users can purchase the Samsung Fascinate for only $99.99 on contract, down from the $199.99 price tag it usually sports.

“The smartphone just became brilliant. The Samsung Fascinate, a Galaxy S phone, offers a robust set of entertainment features and represents a high level of mobile intelligence,” the wireless carrier notes on its website.

“Featuring a 4.0” Super AMOLED display that is stunningly bright while also conserving battery life, the Samsung Fascinate offers a powerful 1GHz processor. Add in the unlimited possibilities of the Android platform, and the Fascinate is truly brilliant.”

On the downside, the mobile phone is still running under Google's Android 2.1 operating system, although it was supposed to receive an update to Android 2.2 Froyo since a few months ago.

In all fairness, it might not be too long before the actual update makes it to end-users, since other Galaxy S devices in the US already started to receive it, such as the Vibrant on T-Mobile's network.

Apart from this, the Fascinate is a great device, with a 1GHz application processor inside, a large touchscreen display, and Samsung's TouchWiz UI on top of Google's Android platform.

The smartphone also comes with 5.0 megapixel camera with auto focus, LED flash and video recording, microSD memory card slot, 3G Mobile Hotspot, and other more.
