If you didn't know, in 2006 and 2007 Samsung was rated as one of the top global electronics brands in various reports, which is not a surprise, given the company's latest achievements.

Recently, Samsung launched a new digital music service, especially designed to work with the company's portable digital music players. The most popular versions available on the market are the K3, the K5 and the T9 models.

Furthermore, MusicNet is a digital entertainment provider to the consumer brands, and Samsung Media Studio is their new client. The service is going to be applied on the previously released Samsung PlayForSure devices, such as the Z5 player. The newly announced service is integrated into the Samsung Media Studio, a proprietary developed media player for Samsung devices. So, the next versions of the company's player are going to have the new features integrated into the system, followed by an automatic software update.

The service will offer portable music subscription access, as well as unlimited downloads to all the company's portable devices for a monthly fee, or for the purchase of the tracks and the albums that are demanded.

The first customers that are going to have access to the new subscription services are the ones from France and Germany. They are going to have access to more than 2.6 million tracks, while the UK subscribers will get instant access to more than 3 million songs, available from four major labels and more than 50.000 individual ones. The monthly subscriptions are estimated to cost around 15 Euro in France and Germany and 11 pounds in the UK. Not to mention the individual track download is going to cost around 2 Euro.

The President and CEO of MusicNet, Alan McGlade said: "MusicNet is delighted to be working with Samsung on this project. The combination of Samsung's advanced dAlan McGladeigital media products with MusicNet's peerless catalog and delivery platform is ideal, Samsung's products and presence, particularly in the European market, are second to none. We look forward to a continued successful relationship with Samsung as they continue to build superior devices for the portable marketplace."

Mr. Seungsoo Park, VP of Sales & Marketing Digital AV Division of Samsung Electronics, stated: "The introduction of the Samsung Media Studio is innovation in the digital age at its best. We have linked our internationally popular devices with a music subscription service and store adding a new dimension to how consumers interact with their devices. With the Samsung Media Studio the world is at your fingertips with millions of songs accessible anytime, anywhere."

All in all, this is good news for all the music consumers worldwide, who now have other options regarding the pricing and the availability of the download services.
