Wireless carrier T-Mobile USA has just announced the release of a new Android-based handset on its airwaves, aimed at budget-conscious users, the Samsung Exhibit 4G.

The new device would arrive on the operator's network in June, and should sport a price tag of less than $100 after a $50 mail-in rebate and with the signing of a two-year contract agreement.

The Samsung Exhibit 4G comes with support for America’s Largest 4G Network, as T-Mobile names its HSPA+ airwaves.

It sports a touchscreen display, with a fast 1GHz application processor hidden beneath it, and with support for great entertainment capabilities, as well as for all the features that one would expect from such a mobile phone.

The new device runs under Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, sports a 3-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with support for video recording, as well as a front-facing camera for video calling.

The Exhibit 4G should offer support for peak download speeds of up to 21Mbps, offering users the possibility to easily stay in touch with their friends, or to share photos, videos and other files via email or social networking.

The mobile phone should hit shelves in two color versions, namely violet and black, and would sport pre-loaded applications and games, along with T-Mobile TV, with free programming from stations like ABC News Now, FOX Sports, PBS Kids and Azteca America.

The Samsung Media Hub would offer access to more movies and TV programs. Users would also enjoy mobile titles like Bejeweled 2, Hasbro’s SCRABBLE, and Doodle Jump.

As any other Android-based mobile phone, the Exhibit 4G would come with support for various Google Mobile Services, as well as for applications available for download via the Android Market.

The Samsung Exhibit 4G will arrive at T-Mobile along with another mobile phone from Samsung, namely the Samsung Gravity SMART.

Both of them should be released on shelves before June is over, but T-Mobile did not offer specific info on when that might happen (though rumor has it that June 8th might be the lucky day).
