Not long ago, it was reported that Samsung might end up acquiring the PC unit that HP apparently wants to shake off, but more recent statements claim that this is not among the company's plans.

No doubt users were more than a little shocked to learn that HP, the world's greatest PC supplier, wants to spin off or sell its PC unit altogether.

That Samsung could buy said PC unit is a rumor that emerged no long after, though it looks like this report may be one of the incorrect variety.

"TBR believes Samsung is one prime candidate to purchase HP’s Personal Systems Group, as it maintains large cash reserves and an established base for component manufacturing,” said Beau Skonieczny, a research analyst with TBR (Technology Business Research).

“In addition, Samsung’s limited global PC presence, where HP maintains broad traction, presents an added benefit to Samsung making such a strategic acquisition,"

Samsung actually made an official statement in which it says that this is simply not going to happen, so the mystery of the HP PC unit future fate has deepened once more.

"The recent rumors that Samsung Electronics will be taking over Hewlett-Packard Co.'s personal computer business are not true. We hope this clarifies any confusion that may have occurred," the official statement by Samsung reads.

Brief and to the point the words were (the statement above is given in its entirety), though one might remember the time when Samsung said it wasn't going to make a tablet or Android Phones only to do so later.

Speaking of tablets, today is the day when the outfit holds it appeal in Germany, the one meant to completely lift the ban on its Galaxy tab 10.1 slate.

Then again, with how the eve of that appeal brought even more bans, whether things will go for the better or worse is still up in the air.
