The jury found it to not have infringed Apple patents

Samsung's defeat in San Jose, California, was as embarrassing as it was massive, but there is one very thin silver lining: the Galaxy Tab 10.1 was found to not overstep the legal bounds that got it tossed out of the country.

That's as bizarre as it gets, considering that the product is what started this patent war, not the phones that were ruled as unlawful.

Seeking to make the best of what it got, Samsung has now requested that the ban on the Galaxy tab 10.1 tablet, in the US, be lifted.

A prohibitive order was made back in late June, when the court ruled that Samsung was not allowed to make, use, sell or even offer to sell the item on the territory of the United States.

Since the Jury now found that not to be the case, the company wants that injunction lifted.

The request was made late on Sunday (August 26, 2012) and should bring the court together one of these days, though we aren't sure when exactly.
