It’s only been a day since Samsung unveiled its Galaxy Mega series of phablets, and the company has already disappointed some of its fans.

Apparently the South Korean company does not plan to officially introduce the Galaxy Mega 5.8 in the UK. Instead, Android enthusiasts will be able to purchase the much bigger Galaxy Mega 6.3.

Obviously, there’s a chance that the slightly more compact Galaxy Mega 5.8 will hit shelves in the UK as well, but it will only be available at some major retailers across the country.

According to Pocket-Lint, the Galaxy Mega 6.3 will arrive in the UK in mid-May. It will be available from multiple carriers for free on select plans.

There are no details on the no-term price of the Samsung Galaxy 6.3, but we reported a few days ago a German retailer is already taking pre-orders for the phablet and priced it at a whopping €700/$915.

We doubt that this will be the final price of the product in the UK as well, especially due to the fact that Galaxy Mega 6.3 is not really a flagship smartphone.

It might be put in the high-end range of devices, but it can’t be priced similarly to or higher than Galaxy S 4, for example.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 will ship with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, integrated with TouchWiz UI.

As the name suggests, the phone’s main selling point is the huge 6.3-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution.

Hardware-wise, the phablet is equipped with a 1.7GHz dual-core Exynos 5250 processor, which is complemented by a Mali-T604 graphics processing unit and 1.5GB of RAM.

There will be two Galaxy Mega 6.3 models available on the market with different amounts of storage, 8GB and 16GB. However, users will be able to further expand internal memory up to 64GB via microSD memory card.
