Not so long ago, Samsung officially announced its next-gen Chromebooks, available with 11.6-inch and 13.3-inch screens. Then earlier today, I brought you news Sammy posted some details about the Exynos 5 Octa processors powering the new Chrome-enhanced laptops.

Anyway, we didn't have an official availability date for the notebooks, but now Samsung has announced that the 11.6-model will be up for grabs in the UK from “select” retailers starting 1 May. Its larger 13.3-inch brother will go on sale later on, beginning May 12 (via ZDNet).

The 11.6-inch Samsung Chromebook comes boasting an LED display with a 1366 x 768 resolution, while the 13.3-inch model offers a beautiful full HD resolution (1920 x 1080) mounted on the same LED display.

The smaller laptop draws power from an Exynos Octa-core processor clocked at 1.9GHz, while the 13.3-nch model works at 2.1GHz. The first model is fitted with 2GB of RAM, while the second has a lofty 4GB onboard.

Both models offer 16GB of internal storage and have an embedded 720p HD webcam. The 11-incher will be available in jet black and classic white, while the 13-inches will arrive with a luminous titan grey paint job.
