One of the popular messaging applications available for the owners of Android-based devices out there is ChatON, which comes from South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung, and which has received an update only recently.

At the moment, the mobile app is available for download as version 3.5.59, providing a nice range of improvements to all those who take advantage of its capabilities.

One of the main improvements included in the new release is the possibility to share large files of up to 1GB. Basically, this means that anyone can now send multimedia contents and information, without having to worry about the size of the file.

Additionally, the updated application increases capacity for group chats, allowing people to engage in conversations with up to 1,001 persons. Previously, the limit was set at 200 users.

With this new enhancement, Samsung is making its chat application a viable solution for all those interested in organizing events and publicizing activities much more broadly than before.

At the same time, the new ChatON 3.5 will enable users to recall messages, though the feature is available only for those texts sent in 1:1 chat rooms.

Apparently, the new functionality will be available even when the receiver has already read the message. To do so, the sender will need to tap and hold the message bubble, and then select the ‘Recall’ option to make the message disappear.

The updated ChatON application will also provide people with the possibility to share their location in real time with their friends using the service. ChatON now features Glympse integration, enabling users to share location for a specified period.

Other enhancements have also been included in the new application iteration, such as better translation features, with support for Arabic, Turkish, Farsi and Hindi. At the moment, the service supports no less than 14 languages.

“ChatON will offer more differentiated messaging features to improve user convenience and focus on supplying various content to enhance global competitiveness,” Senior Vice President of Media Solution Center, Samsung Electronics, Mr. Jaehyun Park, said.

The ChatON application is available on multiple mobile operating systems, beside Android, including BlackBerry, iOS, and Windows Phone. Moreover, the service can be enjoyed on feature phones too, as well as on the PC.

As Samsung explains, users can actually enjoy ChatON on five devices at the same time, through a Samsung Account. The application will automatically sync a user’s ChatON profile, chat list and buddy list, so that they can continue enjoying ChatON even when changing or losing devices.
