Hulu Plus is the first ad-supported subscription service, to offer full current season runs of hit TV programs from channels such as FOX, ABC and NBC. For some time, this subscription service has been preparing to offer a preview on connected devices. Now, Samsung has proudly announced that it had become its exclusive HDTV partner by adding the service to its Samsung Apps HDTV application store. Essentially, this means that the amount of premium HD content now available to Samsung's customers has increased substantially.

Hulu plus delivers HD media for only $9.99 a month. Now, it has become available for download through Samsung Apps for select Blu-ray players, Blu-ray home theaters and most Samsung TVs of 40 or more inches in width. Through it, end-users can watch sample content and even request an invite to the preview of the service itself.

"With the addition of Hulu Plus to Samsung Apps, our customers now have access to an ever-expanding catalog of premium HD content at the push of a button," said Eric Anderson, vice president of content and product solutions, Samsung Electronics America. "We are excited to be the exclusive HDTV partner in making Hulu Plus available on the largest screen in the home during this preview period."

This service is just the most recent to be added to the Company's portfolio of available consumer experiences. Text-based RSS feeds, for instance, which sent weather, news and stock information directly to the TV, were added in 2008.

Last year, Yahoo! widgets were added as well, as were streaming video services like Amazon video-on-demand and Blockbuster. Other Samsung Apps partners include Facebook, netflix, Pandora, Vudu, Twitter and others. That said, after the end of the preview period, all Samsung Apps users will have the possibility of downloading and subscribing to the full Hulu plus service.
