Samsung is looking to innovate the tablet industry

As we wait for Samsung to pull out of the box some brand new tablets at CES 2014, I offer you a glimpse into the future of Sammy’s tablet projects.

The Korean tech giant has already been awarded some patents for foldable smartphones, so what would the next logical step be? Well, foldable tablets, of course.

Sammy was awarded a patent detailing a foldable slate, back on December 31, says PhoneArena. In it, one can see the sketch of a tablet capable of snapping in two and being folded like a book. Being able to snap “shut,” a tablet like that might as well redefine the whole portable dogma within the market and that is probably what Samsung wants.

Sadly, at the moment not much is known about the tablet or how the device will actually work, but I certainly hope to see Samsung transform this design prototype into reality.
