Virgin Mobile USA has just announced the upcoming availability of the Samsung Montage feature phone starting August 20. The slider will be available for purchase for a suggested retail price of $49.99 USD (40 EUR).

Along with Samsung Montage, Virgin Mobile USA also launched the Samsung Entro clamshell, which is now up for sale for only $14.99 USD without having to sign up for a long-term contract.

However, the folks over at PhoneScoop found out that Sprint might offer the Samsung Montage in the near future. The handset has just been listed on the South Korean company’s official site, but under a different name tag.

The so-called Samsung Array is bound to hit shelves at Sprint. This is confirmed by the branding etched on the phone’s battery cover.

At first glance, this is Sprint’s variant of Samsung Montage, though the handset maker does not offer additional details on this.

The phone’s main selling point is the large slide-out QWERTY keyboard. In addition, Samsung Array’s low price point might be another advantage of the feature phone.

Unfortunately, we don’t have any details on the phone’s pricing options at Sprint, but we expect more info to surface in the following days.

Samsung Array comes with a 2.4-inch LCD display that supports 240 x 320 pixels resolution.

On the back, the slider features a 2-megapixel photo snapper with the following additional settings: Shot Modes, Single, Continuous, Mosaic, Panorama, Night Shot; Camcorder.

Hardware-wise, the Array is equipped with a 480 MHz single-core Qualcomm QSC6155 processor, as well as 40MB of internal memory. The latter can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

Last but not least, Samsung Array drains energy from a 1000 mAh Li-Ion battery, which is rated by the manufacturer for up to 10.4 days of standby time or up to 4 hours of talk time.
