Unveiled back in February at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014, Samsung Galaxy S5 has been confirmed for an April 11 release on the market.

As with all high-end smartphones, there will be a short period of pre-orders, so carriers and retailers can manage their stocks better, which, in the case of Galaxy S5, has just started.

Samsung Galaxy S5 will hit shelves in April 11 in more than 150 countries, but beginning today, Android fans will be able to pre-order their favorite smartphone.

According to Samsung, starting today, the Galaxy S5 is now on display and available for pre-order at more than 1,400 shops around the world.

Several US-based carriers have already confirmed that the high-end device can be pre-ordered beginning today, but Galaxy S5 is now up for pre-purchase in no less than 61 countries.

Moreover, the South Korean handset maker has announced that the smartphone is now available for preview in these countries.

Samsung claims that this “preview” offers an advanced experience with the Galaxy S5 “with the help of dedicated Galaxy Specialists who will be showcasing the unique new features including rich tone HDR camera, finger print recognition, and Heart Rate Monitor.”

Those who wish to take advantage of these advanced experiences with the Galaxy S5 should know that global previews take place only at Samsung Experience Stores, mobile carrier stores, and key retailer stores in these 61 countries.

Some of these countries have been confirmed by Samsung in a press release, but they are only a few. More details on these previews are likely to be available at regional level.

Anyway, Samsung has confirmed that beginning March 21, potential customers in the United States and Switzerland will be able to benefit from these previews.

Furthermore, the handset maker states that the special first look experience will be expanded to 59 more markets including Brazil, China, Germany and the United Kingdom.

Along with the Samsung Galaxy S5, similar previews will be available for Samsung’s three new additions to the Gear series: Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo, and Gear Fit. All three Gear devices will also be available globally on April 11.

“The new Galaxy S5 and Gear devices are designed for what matters most to our consumers. We listened closely to our consumers when designing these products, and we want to give as many customers as possible the enough chance to experience of Galaxy S5, Gear 2, and Gear Fit before they purchase,” said Younghee Lee, executive vice president of global marketing, IT and mobile division at Samsung Electronics.
