According to UnwiredView, Samsung announced during the Tizen Developer Summit in Korea that the NX300M digital camera, which launched this October in the country, was the first commercial product to run on their proprietary OS, Tizen.

Called Tizen Camera Platform, the new OS is said to have a booting time twice as fast as its Linux-based competitors. Samsung's Tizen OS is based on the Samsung Linux Platform and incorporates the best features from their LiMo and Bada projects, as well as Intel's MeeGo operating system.

The NX300M digital camera was launched last month in Korea and comes as an improvement to the NX300 model, featuring a 3.31-inch / 8.40cm AMOLED touch display that can also flip around 180 degrees.

The camera comes with a 20.3-megapixel APS-C sensor, 100-25,600 ISO range, NFC capabilities, as well as dual-channel Wi-Fi with SmartShare and 8.6fps continuous shooting.
