With IFA having finally kicked off, Samsung went ahead and, instead of just unleashing one or two devices, revealed a whole collection of laptops, one of them being the QX410, a model less than 1-inch thick and which features a button-less multi-gesture touchpad.

Unlike the RF510 and RF710 that the same outfit released at the very same time, the QX410 seems to pay more mind to the design aspect.

While the RF laptops were especially focused on performance, this new notebook strives to be just as compact and easily configurable as it is capable.

Thus, Samsung used its expertise to cram all of the necessary hardware inside a frame that is just under one inch in thickness and weighs very little, thanks to its aluminum chassis.

For one, the display size of the QX410 is 14 inches and the screen itself is a SuperBright LED display whose native resolution is of 1366 x 768 pixels.

At the center of the configuration lies an Intel Core i5 CPU, the i5-460M to be exact, and this chip is backed up by 4GB of RAM and the Hybrid Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 310M with 512MB dedicated RAM.

As one may expect, Samsung went ahead and implemented the NVIDIA Optimus technology, which dynamically switches between the integrated and discrete GPUs depending on application demand.

What's more, the PC comes with a HDD of up to 640GB, LAN, 3W stereo speakers, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, a 4-in-1 card reader and a DVD Super Multi optical drive.

Finally, for extra convenience and aesthetic value, the model is built with a multi-function gesture touchpad without buttons but capable of many interface commands

Basically, the product is meant to deliver high-quality performance during games and multimedia, as well as a decent battery life when performing less demanding tasks.

The Samsung QX410 has a battery life of about 7 hours, runs Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit and has a price tag of $899.
