Since Samsung brought so many interesting 3D display solutions at CES 2011, we haven't managed to cover them all, but we'll try to amend that right now by talking about the company's new 7 and 9 series of 3D LED monitors and HDTV/Monitor combos, that will really come in handy for those users who want to create a 3D desktop PC system. According to Samsung, what makes these display solutions stand out is the fact that they can automatically analyze and render 2D content in real-time to 3D, whether we're talking about content provided by gaming consoles, 3D Blu-ray players or PCs.

Moreover, in order to offer customers a complete 3D solution that works right out of the box the 7 and 9 Series feature a built-in glasses sync emitter, and they are packaged with a pair of 3D active-shutter glasses and middleware for 3D gaming.

And since we're on the topic of these particular hybrid models, it's also interesting to mention that they also offer HDTV/Monitor (MFM) versions, which feature an HDTV tuner for live television in addition to PC and AV playback.

Plus, the HDTV/Monitor 7 and 9 Series displays integrate a picture-in-picture function, plus some pretty OK tech specs, including Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution, a 2ms response time, 1000:1 static contrast ratio and 170/160-degrees viewing angles.

“With the explosion in entertainment content from 3D films, television and video games and the increased availability of 3D capture devices like cameras and webcams, gamers, home entertainment enthusiasts and content creators are demanding more functionality from their display devices,” said Young Bae, director of display marketing, Samsung Enterprise Business Division.

“Consumers will not only enjoy the latest in Samsung display technology for the best possible 2D experience with the 7 and 9 Series monitors, they will also be able to enjoy a wide variety of native 3D content and, on some models, even watch 2D content in 3D thanks to Samsung’s real-time 2D to 3D conversion technology,” the company's director concluded, without providing any information regarding their pricing and availability, unfortunately.
