14 DAY TRIAL // Last year, actor Jude Law was in a relationship with model Samantha Burke, who just gave birth a few weeks ago to a daughter, Law’s fourth child. The latest issue of Hello! magazine comes with the first photos of Burke and daughter Sophia, together with an interview about how Law has so far refused to become involved in her life.
Burke was reportedly paid $300,000 for the pics and the interview, although that is a claim she will probably never admit to. She does say, however, that she’s not a gold-digger and the allegation that she’s one has hurt her considerably, because she never went out with the A-list star with the purpose of becoming pregnant and, this way, getting his money.
Still, Law has yet to see his child, despite claims from his spokesperson this summer saying that he would be an active parent that would be present in the child’s life just like he were married to Burke. “There are no plans for it to happen at the moment, but I know he’s busy.” Burke tells Hello! of Law’s intention to see Sophia. He’s missing out on a lot of wonderful things with his refusal, one might infer from what the model says further on. “She’s already got such a great personality. I think he’ll fall in love with her when he sees her.” she explains.
In the same interview, the model also explains that Law has been the very picture of an absentee father as far as Sophia is concerned, adding that she hopes things will take a turn for the better in the near future. He is a great dad to the three children he has with Sadie Frost, so there is indication that he can be a wonderful father for Sophia too, especially since she’s so much like him – and impossible not to love, Burke adds.
“She has his chin and nose, and she does a little pout that I notice that he’s done before. I think her eyes are more like mine, though. He’s a great father to his three kids. She’s his daughter and I believe he’ll come through. I mean once you see her face, how can you deny it?” Samantha Burke concludes by saying.
