People close to Telltale Games have reportedly leaked some inside information to GamerTell saying that the game development studio is planning to port its entire portfolio onto the Macintosh. Many of Telltale’s staffers are said to have an affinity for the Mac platform, and there’s even talk of the company being especially interested in bringing Sam & Max to the Mac fanbase as soon as possible.

Outlining, “We have it from a very reliable, confidential source” GamerTell claims that, “Telltale Games may be planning to release its entire lineup of games to Macintosh very soon, possibly next month (February 2010).” The site points out to the perfect timing, should the rumor materialize, as it would coincide with the upcoming Macword Expo kicking off in February at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Sister site Appletell will allegedly be there to confirm whether or not this is the case.

An American video-game developer founded in June 2004 as Telltale Inc., Telltale Games is now based in San Rafael, California, and houses designers formerly employed by LucasArts. The company is best known for its various graphic adventure game series based on popular licensed properties, while its business model revolves around episodic gaming and digital distribution.

In fact, Telltale is the first and only studio to release interactive episodic content on a monthly schedule. According to the company, its flagship Sam & Max series paved the way for episodic gaming with two award-winning seasons available on the PC, Wii, and Xbox LIVE Arcade. The series is based on the independent comics by Steve Purcell.

Currently, Telltale can show off with titles including the Sam & Max series, Tales of Monkey Island, Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People, Bone, and Wallace and Gromit’s Grand Adventures. At the moment, only Windows PC users and owners of a Nintendo Wii and/or Xbox 360 can play these games.
