Mobile phone manufacturer Sagem has announced the my401C, which according to them was designed to be a "mobile more as a reflection of their personality than a piece of empowering technology".

This basically means that it comes in a clamshell form factor with a simple but stylish design, while not placing quite as much attention on features, that are mainly entry level. It targets users that aren't at all interested in more expensive phones packed with advanced capabilities.

The handset features a 65k color internal screen with a 128 x 160 pixel resolution, a VGA camera, for simply taking snapshots when one needs to without offering higher quality or advanced features, and a media player enabling the user to listen to music.

The 1.5 MB internal memory will be enough for a few photos and other files, while for the users who want to store some music they can listen to, the Sagem my401C also features a MicroSD card slot for memory expansion.

Other features include Bluetooth and SyncMLTM for connectivity, a wap browser, Java support and SMS and MMS for keeping in touch with friend and sharing photos. The tri-band handset will reportedly last for 250 hours on standby and just about 3.30 hours of talk time.

It's one more among a whole series of low-end devices that Sagem has to offer and should be very convenient for customers that want a simple, affordable and easy to carry around handset. The Sagem my401C will become available during April. Customers that are interesting in getting this handset will be able to find it on T-Mobile and Vodafone which are offering it with a price tag of ?49.99.
