Although I am sure that you hate being tied down to a power outlet just as much as I hate it, we often find ourselves in situations where we would give virtually anything for five minutes worth of juice so SafePlug has developed an outlet that will allow audiences captive in locations such as airports, convention centers or hotel lobbies to recharge their devices, for a small charge of course.

And since, the SafePlug Model 1200-P3 power outlet is actually a very simple to install and operate many business will be able to add such a device to start up an additional profit stream, SafePlug promising up to $10,000 per year for each electrical SafePlug pay-per-use outlet you install.

From the users perspective, the unit is equally as simple to operate since it only requires you to plug your smartphone, or whatever device you may want to charge, into SafePlug's outlet and then touching a P3 card or keyfob to the 1200-P3 to turn on the receptacle for a certain period of time.

Each P3 card will contain access credits for 10 or 20 blocks, each so called block containing 20, 30, 45, or 60 minutes worth of power.

SafePlug also says this device is protected against “power-fraud” so, if the plug is removed during a charge period and another plug is inserted, a anti-"bully" system will kick that will stop the power delivery mechanism, this being only reactivated once a P3 card or keyfob is detected.

All in all, I would say this is a really neat solution for when you are on the go and need a way of charging your portable device in order to get you trough the day.

Just imagine being able to recharge your phone in the airport, just before boarding on that long flight home, that otherwise would have drained up your battery, leaving you with nothing better to do than reading those boring security instructions.
