After being bought by NEVS, the company will only produce electric cars

Official news indicates that the Swedish automaker Saab is soon to change ownership.

Thus, the company will be bought by National Electric Vehicle Sweden AB (NEVS), an international consortium whose primary stakeholders are Japanese, Swedish and Chinese businessmen.

Once this happens, Saab will switch to producing only electric vehicles, as apparently the market in the Asia Pacific region is quite fond of them.

It is expected that 600,000 such cars will be sold here by 2017.

Although the sum NEVS is going to pay in order to take Saab under its newly found green-wing has not been made public yet, the final price will be influenced by Saab's continually selling less and less vehicles (133,00 units in 2006, but just around 10,000 last year).
