A NYC man is being credited with putting an end to a brutal biker assault on a Range Rover driver last week.

Sergio Consuegra was on his way to church when he noticed the commotion and he put himself in between the bikers and driver Alexian Lien.

Lien had been pulled out of the vehicle and beaten and his wife was being threatened. Consuegra told WABC that the group was trying to get the motorist's wife out of the SUV.

"He grabbed the lady by her arms real loud," he recalls.

In an interview with CBS New York, he describes the bikers wanting to kill Lien. He put himself in between them and the man lying on the ground and they backed off.

“That’s it, guys. Let it go,” he said and used his body to protect that of the driver's.

Consuegra has been honored by State Senator Adriano Espaillat. He received a commendation in Washington Heights on Sunday.
