We finally have a release date for the somewhat anticipated S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky title: the 29th of August 2008 and we do hope that the last Summer days will bring us a really worthy title to play. The game will be released worldwide by the game labels Deep Silver and GSC World Publishing.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky is a survival first person shooter (FPS) game for PC systems based on a 'what-if' scenario of the second Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant accident. The game is created as a warning to mankind against mindless play with technologies or, as some critics might see it - a reason to promote violence.

The game is set in 2011 and brings forth the events to have preceded the third campaign of Strelok to the Zone center. The game introduces an alternative look onto the events of the original game and offers the player to try himself out as a mercenary s.t.a.l.k.e.r. in search of his own path in the huge game world.

"Our intention to deliver the game simultaneously worldwide is both a challenge and big responsibility to the many fans of the game around the globe. We are looking forward to achieve this ambitious goal in August," said Sergiy Grygorovych, GSC World Publishing CEO.

That is a great thing to hear - everybody deserves to get the new titles at the same time, no matter where they live. And hopefully this decision to release STALKER simultaneously will be a lesson for everybody and more publishers will do the same in the future. Now, back to the game.

This new FPS game comes with a new system of upgrades for weapons and armors, an improved AI for NPCs and enemies and it offers you the possibility to play and lead any game-world faction to victory. Also, there is a brand new animation engine implemented and we'll now have the chance to repair our weapons and armor. Put all these things together and you will know why we can hardly wait for this game to be released.
