With the 2008 Olympic Games from Beijing starting in less than two months, Glu Mobile and SEGA have partnered to release two new mobile games that will bring the Olympic adventure to your (or our) handsets. The first game is called, simply, "Beijing 2008" and it's the official mobile game of the famous event, while the second one is "Sonic at the Olympic Games".

Created by SEGA, the well-known Japanese developer, and published by Glu Mobile, "Beijing 2008" is set to provide all the excitement the real Olympic competition is offering. The game features user-friendly controls, four Olympic events and an overall authentic feel.

Details about "Sonic at the Olympic Games" have not been given yet, but the game will surely introduce Sonic, also known as Sonic the Hedgehog, in the competitive atmosphere of the Olympics. Most probably, users will have to lead the world-famous SEGA character to victory in Olympic sports like athletics, gymnastics or swimming.

"We're delighted to bring the official game of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games to the mobile platform. Publishing the Official Mobile Phone Games for the world's premier sports event is a source of huge pride for us, and it furthers our excellent relationship with SEGA", declared Frank Keeling, Managing Director of Publishing, EMEA, Glu, in a press release issued yesterday.

Gary Knight, Marketing Director of SEGA Europe Ltd., added: "Combining an enjoyable game with a truly global sporting license will provide a fantastic sports game experience for gamers everywhere. We're extremely happy to continue our thriving partnership with Glu which continues to deliver fantastic franchises for the mobile phone game format."

"Beijing 2008" and "Sonic at the Olympic Games" will be soon available across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

The real 2008 Beijing Olympic Games will debut on the 8th of August, and until then we'll probably see more mobile games related to the event.
