Video game publisher SEGA has announced that it plans to re-launch two of its biggest games ever, House of the Dead 3 and 4, exclusively on the PlayStation Network service from Sony in the coming months.

Both titles have been updated with support for High Definition graphics and allow the gamer to use the Move motion tracking system to control the action.

There are also Trophies added to the House of the Dead games, allowing players to brag to one another about their performance in the titles.

House of the Dead 3 will be offered on the PSN on February 7 and SEGA plans to deliver House of the Dead 4 at some point during the spring.

Haruki Satomi, who is the senior vice president of Digital Business at SEGA of America, stated when the announcement was made, “The House of the Dead has always been one of SEGA’s most popular series, and over the years we have worked hard to bring that full arcade experience to console owners.”

He added, “The abilities of the PlayStation 3, as well as PlayStation Move, have let us get closer than ever before. The only thing these titles are missing is a need for quarters.”

House of the Dead 3 was launched in 2002 by SEGA and added new gameplay mechanics like the rescue events, the new Boss cancel bar which allowed characters to deliver more powerful attacks and a new shooting technique that challenges players to better place their shots.

The fourth game in the series took another 3 years to create and launched in arcades during 2005 and the PlayStation 3 launch will be the first one on home consoles, allowing gamers to enjoy the new hidden room mechanics and a number of interactive sequences where players must face tough enemies directly.
