WLAN bonus but no sight of a digital camera

According to a couple of inside people, the M600i business cellphone manufactured by Sony Ericsson will go under the scrutiny of some phone make-up artists and will get revamped.

Anyway, you shouldn't get too hyped up about it because, as the same sources tell us, the handset is not going to feature radical improvements besides a more silverish overall look and added WLAN capability.

For the ones of you that don?t know what the M600 is all about, it features an UIQ 3.0 Symbian OS 9.1 operating system, a 256k colors TFT touchscreen display with handwriting recognition, 80 MB of built-in memory and the dreaded Sony Ericsson Memory Stick Micro (M2) expansion card slot (a 64 MB card included), GPRS, HSCSD, 3G connectivity, wireless Bluetooth 2.0, Infrared, USB 2.0, an Opera web browser, Office applications, a media player, Java MIDP 2.0 technology, in one word (or more :) ) everything a business man might want in a cellphone. Everything but a 2 or 3 megapixel digital camera. At least!

I don't really understand what Sony Ericsson is thinking and why they didn't add the camera everyone desired since the release of the M600. Now the cellphone will evolve, will get WLAN and silver make-up, will be known as the M600i.

The internal codename of this device is Lizy and if we were to trust the rumors there also is an Elena coming our way and, supposedly, that will be the camera enabled M600 we are all waiting for.

Until these rumors get an official confirmation, just hang on because I'll keep you posted as soon as anything new reaches the surface on this matter.
