The Me Inc. mobile division of the SCO Group announced the availability of the public beta of Shout Postcard, a new mobile service that lets users quickly share life's experiences on-the-go through photos, text and voice. Designed for Palm Treo smartphones, Shout Postcard features a colorful, easy-to-use screen that helps users quickly combine a photo, a recorded audio message up to a minute long, and text to create a personalized, multimedia postcard that can then be sent to co-workers, friends and family.

"The Shout Postcard service is ideal for sharing life's events such as birthdays, graduations, recitals, concerts, vacations, or any memorable event that users want to share with others," said Shaun Cutler, director of product management for Me Inc. Shout mobile solutions, The SCO Group. "We designed Shout Postcard for anyone to share photos, audio and text in as little as two minutes. With a free version now available, we anticipate that Shout Postcard will become a fun, new way for people on the go to share life's events with their social network."

The free version of Shout Postcard can be used to send a greeting to up to five contacts at once, while the upcoming commercial version will allow for sending postcards to a larger number of contacts or groups. Shout Postcards can be sent to a recipient's e-mail or to other Palm Treo smart phones that have Shout Postcard. For PC and laptop users, a web version of Shout Postcard will also be available for use with most web browsers.

The free, pre-release version of Shout Postcard is currently available for download here.
