“Birdman” cast accepts award for Outstanding Performance

The SAG Awards 2015 were last night in Los Angeles, at the Shrine Auditorium, and “Birdman” positioned itself as the biggest favorite to win Best Picture at the upcoming Oscars 2015 by scooping up the award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.

So when “Birdman” was called out, the cast came up on stage to collect the award and give the customary acceptance speech. Director Alejandro Inaritu was not there with his leading ladies and gentlemen.

Australian actress Naomi Watts came very close to having what has been dubbed online as a “Jennifer Lawrence at the Oscars” moment, because she tripped on co-star Emma Stone’s long trail and nearly fell on stage, as she was on her way to the microphone stand.

She laughed it off, as also did Emma, who somehow felt guilty for almost tripping her up and could be seen mouthing the words “I’m sorry.”

The full “Birdman” acceptance speech, including Zach Galifianakis’ hilarious Julianne Moore reference, is in the YouTube video below. However, if you’re here just for Naomi’s near-accident on stage, the Vine below should do the trick.
