Star wins for “Veep,” gets a helping hand from co-star Matt Walsh on stage

Julia Louis Dreyfus wanted so badly to win a Golden Globe at last week’s 2014 edition that she actually forgot to leave the speech she’d prepared at home and mistakenly read it when she won Best Actress, Comedy at the Screen Actors Guild Awards over the weekend.

Clearly, she was just messing around, as the video above can confirm. Julia won the award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series for “Veep” and, as you can see, she tried to joke her way through what must have been a very emotional moment for her.

When she still failed to find the right one, she turned to her co-star Matt Walsh, who just “happened” to be up on stage as well, and asked him if he’d brought along her speech.

He hadn’t because he didn’t think she’d win, so Julia was forced to “swing it” in her own funny way. You can tell she was very nervous and happy.

The always stunning Julia wore a navy Monique Lhuillier dress, with Christian Louboutin shoes and clutch, and jewelry by forevermark. This was her first Actor statuette.
