Some months ago, Jared Leto was saying that he never imagined his return to acting in “Dallas Buyers Club” would get so much media attention, let alone Oscar buzz. Last night at the Screen Actors Guild Awards 2014, he picked up another gong for the role.

Jared walked up to the stage to accept the Actor for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role, but not before he kissed his date on the cheeks: he had asked his mother to accompany him to the gala.

As you can see in the video above, he thanked her too in his acceptance speech, calling her “the hottest date in town.” And now we all know where Jared gets his gorgeous hair.

The actor also used the opportunity to say a few words about all those who had lost their lives to HIV / AIDS and to dedicate his win to their grieving families.

He also dedicated it to the transvestite community, for inspiring him to dream bigger by never settling for playing by the rules, and thus helping him to better inhabit his character in the critically acclaimed film.
