Actress calls organizers out on time management, roasts those who didn’t vote for her

Cate Blachett, looking divine in a pink Givency gown, took to the stage at the Screen Actors Guild Awards 2014 to collect her Actor for Best Actress for her role in Woody Allen’s “Blue Jasmine.” And she had every intention of making herself heard.

As you can see in the video above, of Cate’s acceptance speech, she made it a point to call out organizers two times about the time management at this type of events, saying she had no intention of cutting her speech short because she had plenty to say.

That also included a rather obscene gesture involving the statuette and the promise that Sally Hawkins can have the bottom half of it. Stars in the audience found it hilarious but many voices online are saying she was a bit too tacky for the occasion.

Cate also roasted her fellow actors who didn’t vote for her, wishing them “better luck next year,” but also got very serious and thanked the people she worked with to make “Blue Jasmine” happen, from the costume and lighting people to Woody Allen, who directed the film and wrote the script.

Saving the best for last (and tearing up a bit), Cate thanked the 3 people who have been in her life for the past 17 years: her husband, her agent, and her publicist.
