A lot of new places to explore

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was one of those games that really made people lose themselves in its open world, filled with unique surroundings, locations and inhabitants. Of course, most of the time one was quite busy shooting various enemies or creatures, but, if they stopped and looked around, they could clearly see the work put in by the developers at GSC.

That same work was improved with the first expansion, called Clear Sky, which brought even more new things to the first title. Now, with the second expansion, dubbed Call of Pripyat, already announced, gamers are expecting a lot of new things to come to their radioactive first-person shooter.

And their expectations will be met, according to GSC's Oleg Yavorsky, who has talked with Rock, Paper, Shotgun about this new expansion and about how it will introduce a lot of new features to the players who want to explore its environments and get a feel of the Ukrainian landscape.

“We will present a complete set of new locations in Call of Pripyat. This includes the Pripyat river basin and its rusty fleet standing still for over 20 years now, the Kopachi village completely buried after the accident, Jupiter factory located on the outskirts of Pripyat, the railway station Yanov, and, to crown it all – an entire district of Pripyat, modeled in its real scope. Many players have repeatedly asked us to implement Pripyat in the game, so we decided to satisfy their wish.”

Hopefully, with this new expansion, other problems of the game will be addressed and everyone will be able to enjoy this taste of radioactive action courtesy of the team from the Ukrainian studio GSC. Don't forget that this new standalone expansion will arrive at the end of the year.
