Actor says adoption is a wonderful idea

This September, gorgeous Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds celebrate their 1-year marriage anniversary. While they have never publicly addressed the issue of having children, Ryan tells UK Glamour magazine adoption is in the cards for the future, since his brother was also adopted and this is something that he wants to do.

It’s not uncommon for celebrities to announce plans or even “parade” their intention of adopting children. However, for Reynolds this comes as a very personal choice since his older brother was also adopted and he couldn’t possibly be more grateful for getting to know him – therefore, he wants to give another child the same kind of chance he and his brother had when his parents made the decision.

“My oldest brother is adopted and I have every intention of adopting at some time. I’m very grateful for having my brother in my life. I couldn’t be more pro-adoption. There are plenty of kids in the world that need it.” Reynolds tells the magazine. In the same interview, he also speaks of his good looks and wits, saying that too is a family inheritance, just like his desire to adopt. “I have my father’s face and body, but my mother’s unshakeable thirst for knowledge. She works part-time jobs, but basically she’s been a student her whole life. She still goes to university and she’s in her 60s.” the actor says.

Ryan Reynolds’ appeal with the public relies, aside from his good looks and acting skills, as fans must know, also on his ability to maintain that down-to-earth quality that makes him easy to relate to and seemingly very accessible as well. He is said to be among the most open and honest male stars of the day, which is why his recent statement on adoption has not failed to generate an incredibly warm response and wave of support from fans.

Even more endearingly, the “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” star is also very humble and, to a certain extent, shy about his reputed good looks. “If you take any of that seriously, you need to be euthanized, ASAP. There are moments when you can use that to your advantage. But it’s really embarrassing. I think I fear more than anything just sounding like a complete [expletive] when I have to answer that question.” the actor was saying a while back when asked how he reacted to compliments on his toned physique and admittedly perfect face.
