The latest issue of Men’s Health brought a photospread with Ryan Phillippe working out and basically flexing those toned muscles for the camera. Now, perhaps not to say that his female fans are left out, Women’s Health also includes photos and an interview with the actor – and he’s still dishing out relationship advice.

As it’s common knowledge by now, former teen heartthrob Ryan was married to Reese Witherspoon, whom he divorced after allegations of his cheating ways got out in the media. Since then, he’s changed a lot: he’s more mature and responsible in his personal life, while also being able to see things in a different light, not taking them for granted anymore, he says for Women’s Health. While he doesn’t say so outright, Ryan is now closer to coming up with the recipe for the perfect relationship.

“Unconditional love and patience. A lot of times, people are in a relationship with someone they’d love to grow old with, but things become tumultuous, and there’s so much that can divide you. That’s the challenge. I got married [to Reese Witherspoon] when I was 23; I’m 35 now [and divorced]. A lot of change can take place in that time. And actors are slightly handicapped by their lifestyle: Couples spend time apart and with other people, and we deal with public scrutiny. It’s hard,” the actor says.

Ryan also has some tips for women on how to impress him, should they ever chance to be out on a date with him. “Do something – anything – to make me laugh. If a woman is funny, that will leave an impression and stay on my brain. I like dark, intellectual wit. But no jokes about bodily functions. That’s not a turn-on for me. If you’re not laughing and mentally stimulating the other person, there’s nowhere to go. You can resuscitate it by drinking. I always have the perfect excuse: ‘I have to put the kids to bed’,” he says.

To point out the obvious, though he’s up on a rope flexing his muscles, the interview seems to bring no fitness-related tips, though ran by a magazine that deals mostly with that (or so it would seem from the excerpts made available online so far). In the same interview, Ryan also talks about his secret talent: he can rap so well he almost sounds like Ludracris, he says.
