The Legacy headshot sound design will also return

The development team at Facepunch Studios is announcing that it is adding a range of new content to its survival-focused Rust, with the player base able to get access to a range of new gameplay mechanics that will increase the level of complexity for the experience.

The new weapon and ammo wheel is allowing players to quickly select the best tool for the job in order to take out potential threats.

When in combat, the headshot sound from Legacy is being brought back to Rust, with those who witness one able to hear it if it happens within 30 meters from them, while those who score one will hear it at full volume.

Gamers can also use a new candle hat in order to create light, although that might not be a wise idea because it makes opponents able to notice the player.

Floor spikes and barricades are also being added to Rust in order to give gamers more options on the defensive, and the damage that a weapon takes from firing a weapon has been halved.

The survival game also has new locations for players to visit, with the developers stating, "Then there are three full-size radtowns. These are radioactive, and summon a fair amount of loot. Approximately the amount you’re used to seeing on the procedural maps. And if that’s too lightweight for you, we’ve also added a single high-yield, zero-radiation facility in the middle of the island."

Apparently, noobs should not try to reach it.

Rust is constantly being updated

The company is also saying that it has eliminated a number of potential exploits linked to melee attacks and that it is allowing gamers to cancel crafting that's in progress.

Rust was introduced in late 2013 and has since then been rebooted, but the title is still technically in alpha stage, which means core game mechanics can be re-designed by the team at Facepunch Studios if the community does not appreciate the results they deliver.

The company is also listening to feedback coming from fans and trying to implement as many new ideas with each update as possible.

Rust uses a classic set of survival game mechanics, with gamers required to carefully manage their resources in order to thrive and avoid being taken out by better equipped opponents or by the environment.
