Russia has passed Vladimir Putin’s proposed bill making all “gay propaganda” illegal. After the Upper House approves it and Putin signs it, the bill becomes a law, The New Civil Rights Movement reports.

The bill acts on the idea that, if you ignore something long enough, it ceases to exist and is meant, in theory at least, to teach children that no other way but the heterosexual one exists.

People who tell their children gay people exist will be fined and imprisoned, according to the case. On the same note, foreigners found guilty of spreading “gay propaganda” will be jailed and then immediately deported.

According to the bill, this type of propaganda is defined as “spreading information aimed at forming non-traditional sexual behavior among children, suggesting this behavior is attractive, and making a false statement about the socially equal nature of traditional and non-traditional relationships.”

The bill was passed by unanimous vote, 434-0 and will, without a doubt, be signed into law.
