Russia seems to be working on its own Android tablet. The new device will likely use many chips and components imported from the Far East, but the complete device will be assembled within the national borders.

The device will be a rugged model that will be able to withstand shock and falls and will also be waterproof.

The Russian military representatives have reportedly declared that they would clean their custom version of Android, so that it won’t come with Google’s invasive data collection.

The device will likely be called RoMOS and will work with apps from a special market.

The cost of such a device is estimated to be around $465 and, with all the “normal” corruption in the country, we believe this will be a cheap $90 device loaded with the modified operating system and featuring the rugged protections.
