Social “athlivist” wants to inspire people to think outside the box with new endeavor

They say dreams know no boundaries, and those of runner Jonathon Prince certainly fit the bill. The athlete and philanthropist has just announced plans to become the first one to run a mile on the Moon.

Prince is a well-known name in certain circles, especially after he dedicated himself to various charities and causes, running to raise awareness for them.

To prove that we should always strive to think outside the box, he’s now set his sight higher than ever before (literally, this time): the Moon.

Prince has started training to become the first athlete that will complete a mile running on the moon, a press release posted on the official webpage of the initiative informs.

“With the aid of key industry partners and his global community of supporters, Prince plans to rebuild the excitement and optimism that defined the first forays into space nearly 50 years ago,” the statement says of Jonathon’s initiative.

“Prince’s ‘Mile On the Moon’ project will unfold over several years of intensive training, strategic partnerships and global outreach, with the goal of completing the first mile on the moon in 2016,” the statement further says.

It doesn’t offer more details or more dates than the year when the run will hopefully take place. However, it does say that the initiative also comes at a time when the space industry is driven by “visionaries in the private sector.”

“‘Mile On the Moon’ is dedicated to all mankind as an inspiration to dream Big Dreams and realize that the sky is no longer the limit to human potential,” Jonathon describes his latest endeavor in a post on the same page.

Also there, he speaks of himself as of a “social athlivist” (athlete and activist) whose sole mission is that to inspire the world to change habits and be more active and more involved.

Or, as he puts it, “Run. Inspire. Change.”
