Definitely faster than your USB 3.0-enabled pen drive

SSDs have become extremely popular in desktop and computer PCs, but few companies have released such devices using a pen drive form factor, so RunCore thought this is a good time to add its name to the list with the USB 3.0 enabled MoonDrive.

The device looks pretty much like every other typical USB dongle out there as it uses a compact form factor and your ordinary plastic case.

On the inside however, things are a bit more advanced than what we are used to seeing in pen drives of this type, since the MoonDrive comes with a RunCore built controller paired with SLC Flash NAND.

This combination allows the drive to reach sequential read and write transfer speeds of 164MB/s and 150MB/s, not too bad for a device this size.

Sadly, this is all that we know at this time about the MoonDrive, as RunCore has decided to keep the secrecy and hidden from the public details like capacity, availability and pricing.

We should get more when the product page pops up on the RunCore website, but who known how long will this take.
