Hot on the heels of a long series of rumors regarding the launch of Apple's iPhone on the airwaves of Verizon Wireless in the United States, which proved false in the end, one should agree, comes another rumor, suggesting that Sprint too has plans to carry the iconic device in the near future. The near future is as near as it can be, rumor has it, as Sprint might start selling the device on its network as soon as next month.

This comes as a surprise in a way, that's for sure, but the info on the matter seems to be as solid as possible. According to a recent article on thetechupdate, a Best Buy employee from Pennsylvania recently sent out word that the advertising machinery on the iPhone was already fired up over at Sprint, and that next month would bring Apple's device to the carrier's customers.

“Hello, I was writing to comment on your article about the iPhone going to other carriers. I work in an electronics store that has a mobile phone store within it. I can confirm that Sprint will be carrying the iPhone beginning in June. They’ve begun to grease the wheels for advertising. There is no news in regards to a Verizon version however […],” the said employee states on the matter. According to this employee, Apple is supposedly moving away from AT&T due to the poor service this carrier offers in the United States.

While things might be seen as confirmed already, there are still quite many of details missing from the equation. Not to mention that, in case a CDMA iPhone is on its way to the United States market, it should offer support for CDMA/EV-DO Rev. A, as both Verizon Wireless and Sprint are using the same technology for their networks.

On the other hand, there are chances that Apple would plan pushing the device to both CDMA carriers, which would greatly expand its reach on the country. In case all these will pan out, the necessary details are likely to be unveiled during Apple's WWDC conference, which is set to kick off on June 7, so stay tuned to learn more on the matter.
