A video points to that

The RPG (Role Playing Game) genre for the PC hasn't been mind-blowing lately, as a lot of eagerly anticipated titles, like Sacred 2 or Fallout 3 have also appeared at the same time on consoles like the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360. But one major title has appeared only for the PC, The Witcher, which was met with a very big demand by PC owners, who could hardly wait to try this game.

This demand translated in pretty big sales and profits for its developer, CD Projekt, and publisher, Atari, which certainly needed the money. But because more of that doesn't hurt, especially if game is already made, it seems that a console version of the game is currently in development at CD Projekt.

This rumor was the result of a leaked developer diary from one of the lead designers of the game, Jakob Stilinsky, which tells of a console-only version of The Witcher. This new project will be entitled The Witcher: Rise of the Wolf, it will appear on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and it will feature a variety of new features that will enhance the whole RPG experience on the two consoles.

Stilinsky goes on saying that among the new features there will be a completely new combat system, which engages the player in fiercer battles, sharper visuals and a new, smarter enemy AI (Artificial Intelligence). A lot of technological improvements have also been implemented in the engine of the game, which now supports dynamic lighting and shadowing, normal mapping and new vegetation. This new game will also feature complete Achievement and Trophy support, and one for the SIXAXIS controller of the PlayStation 3.

Set to be a much better-looking version of the PC game, it will certainly offer all the console RPG fans a great experience. As of yet, no official word from CD Projekt or Atari about this possible version, but fans are keeping their fingers crossed so they might get the chance to play with Geralt on the consoles of their choice. Let's just hope that the official announcement will be made soon.
