Nokia C7 could be the second Nokia handset to be available through T-Mobile USA, after the X2-01 hit the shelves two weeks ago

Nokia C7 was officially announced in September 2010 and became available on the market one month later.

According to TmoNews, Nokia C7 will be released by T-Mobile later this month, as the Nokia “Tiger.”

After the early cancellation of the Nuron 2, which was expected to be available from T-Mobile sometime in February, the C7 could be a considerable upgrade from the old Nokia Nuron.

Nokia Nuron is currently the only Symbian smartphone available from the US carrier and can be obtained for free with a new two-year contract.

Nokia is trying to build up its presence in North America, which is currently very weak to say the least.

Furthermore, in light of the new partnership with Microsoft, the Finnish company wants to prepare its overseas fans for its Windows Phone 7 based smartphones, which are expected to be launched through various carriers, at the end of the year.

While Nokia C7 is not the manufacturer's flagship smartphone, it's still one of the latest Symbian^3 devices that could prove an excellent choice for user, if the carrier subsidizes the acquisition costs considerably.

Nokia C7 is a medium sized device (117.3 x 56.8 x 10.5 mm) equipped with a 3.5-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors support and 360 x 640 pixels resolution.

Known for its top notch hardware, Nokia doesn't disappoint with the C7, as it comes with a 680 MHz ARM 11 processor, complemented by a Broadcom BCM2727 GPU.

Even though the speed of the CPU might not be impressive compared to its rivals, this is one of the most powerful processors ever embedded in a Nokia smartphone.

It also boasts an impressive 8-megapixel camera with fixed focus, dual-LED flash, geo-tagging, face detection and camcorder (720p@25fps). A secondary VGA front-facing camera enables users to take advantage of the video-call feature.

There's no certain information regarding the phone's price yet, but rumors suggest that the Nokia C7 might be available for under $100 with a new two-year contract.
