Expected to come this fall

This is one rumor that adds upon another, since it refers to a much talked about mobile phone expected to go to T-Mobile as soon as the fall of the ongoing year, namely the G1 v2 Bigfoot, which is now reported to have Motorola as its manufacturer, though it has been originally believed to come from HTC, the company that also made the first G1, the HTC Dream.

This comes as a big surprise to most of us, given the fact that the G1 branding suggested that the handset was made by the same company that released the first phone in the world powered by Google's Android operating system. But since this might not happen, the first question that would come to one's mind would be why keep the same branding.

On the other hand, the phone might not come as T-Mobile G1 Bigfoot after all, but under a different name, in case it will actually come from Motorola, for some recently leaked info on two Samsung mobile phones running under Android showed a Samsung Bigfoot that was said to go to T-Mobile's lineup as well, though that one came with more rounded corners than the device pictured here.

Regardless of the name it will bear, it seems that this phone will actually come from Motorola, at least this is what BGR strongly suggests. And since it says that the info comes from more than one source, it should prove in the end that the phone will bear Motorola's branding, while working on T-Mobile's airwaves.

One thing that can be said for sure is that there will be quite a few Android-based mobile phones launched before the year's end, and that they will come from different handset makers, including HTC, Samsung and Motorola, which should translate in the end into an impressive growth for the platform, as Strategy Analytics stated recently. As for who made which phone, only time will tell, so stay tuned to learn the news.
