The fans of the Gran Theft Auto series might have just revealed the name of the main character of the upcoming fifth main game in the long running series while also discovering the actor who is set to play him.

The name of the actor is Ned Luke and it seems that so far his most important role has been on an episode of the long running Law & Order show.

His IMDB profile shows that he took part in a number of casting calls linked to the GTA series and is set to play Albert de Silva, presumably the main character.

A look at his official photos and his demo reel shows that he is very close in terms of looks to the protagonist of the Grand Theft Auto V trailer that was launched by Rockstar and Take Two.

A fellow actor, Jimmy Taenaka, has posted a Twitter message that says: “@RockstarGames #GTAV looks awesome! it's not official but I know that voice and look #NedLuke He is bigger & badder than Statham... lookout”.

It seems to be a confirmation that Ned Luke is indeed playing the main character of the new GTA adventure, although Rockstar has no offered any sort of official confirmation or denial.

Another Twitter user, who claims to be the cousin of the actor, also confirmed the rumors.

GTA V has been unveiled by Rockstar with a trailer that might serve to hype up the game to the fan base but offers very limited information on what the game might actually deliver when it is launched.

The action is moving back to the virtual Los Angeles that the company has created in GTA III but it's not clear whether the same areas will be explored or whether the game world will be completely new.

Neither Rockstar nor Take Two have talked about when the game might be launched.
