Verizon might no longer be the only carrier to sell the Voyager

Exclusively available in the US from Verizon Wireless, the second largest mobile carrier in the US, LG Voyager could be soon offered by AT&T and Sprint too, the first and respectively the third largest North American operators.

According to Electronic Times Korea, an "official of LG" said the South Korean company plans to launch LG Voyager with the other two major US carriers until the end of this year. Which is a perfectly doable plan, since Verizon surely didn't get all-time exclusivity for the handset, and both AT&T and Sprint wouldn't mind at all to offer a phone like the Voyager to their subscribers. Sure, LG will have to make two new slightly changed versions of Voyager (as to work on the different networks), but that will not be a problem.

Since November 2007, when the handset was launched at Verizon, more than 1.1 million units were sold, which only means that Voyager is obviously a popular device.

LG Voyager weighs 4.69 ounces (132 grams), measures 4.64 x 2.12 x 0.71 inches (117 x 54 x 18 millimeters) and packs a full sliding QWERTY keyboard and two 2.8 inch TFT touchscreens with VibeTouch for tactile feedback, one external and one internal, both of them offering 262K colors support and a 400 x 240 pixels resolution. Moreover, the handset comes with Music player (MP3, WMA, AAC and AAC+), stereo speakers, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, email, HTML browser, Instant Messaging, USB 2.0, a 2.0 Megapixel camera with auto focus and video recording, and microSD card support for up to 8GB.

The Voyager can be currently bought from Verizon for $299, with a 2-year contract agreement, so I assume AT&T and Sprint will offer the handset for a similar price (if the LG official quoted by the South Korean publication was right, of course).
