14 DAY TRIAL // Motorola DEFY XT535 has been specially designed for the Chinese market. The Android-based smartphone is available from authorized Motorola resellers across the country starting today.
Unfortunately, the handset maker did not unveil the phone’s pricing options, so potential customers may want to check it at the nearest authorized seller.
The device follows the same line of rugged smartphones. Motorola DEFY XT535 is IP67 certified, so expect this one to be water-resistant and dust proof.
In addition, the smartphone comes with Corning Gorilla Glass coating, which protects the phone against scratches and scrapes.
The phone comes with four touch-sensitive keys and a decent 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 854 pixels resolution.
One of the phone’s selling points is the high-capacity 1650 mAh battery, which is rated by the manufacturer for up to 290 hours of standby time or up to 9 hours of talk time.
Motorola DEFY XT535 sports a 5-megapixel rear photo snapper with autofocus and LED flash, as well as a secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls.
Software-wise, the smartphone is powered by Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and provides access to SHOP4APPS China, Motorola’s app market, and China Unicom’s WO App Store.
In addition, the phone comes pre-loaded with social networking apps, including Facebook, Twitter and MySpace. With MotoSwitch UI users will be able to change between different modes, such as “work” or “personal.”
The DEFY XT535 is equipped with a 1 GHz single-core processor, 1GB of ROM, 512 MB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).
