As the wearable industry extends, more and more products are starting to appear like mushrooms after the rain.

I've been telling you about the Rufus Cuff smartwatch, which wants to bring the functionality of a smartphone onto your wrist. With this goal in mind, the start-up behind the device places a pretty huge display on your wrist, which doesn't look all that comfortable nor particularly stylish.

The Rufus Cuff can operate on its own and can also be paired with an Android/iOS handset by virtue of Bluetooth. Therefore, adopters of the Rufus Cuff will have the ability to access Google Now, Siri and a Web browser.

The smartwatch can be used for fitness tracking too and also comes equipped with a front-facing camera and LED flashlight.

As for specs, the Rufus Cuff has a 3-inch TFT capacitive screen with a resolution of 400 x 240 pixels. The watch has 16GB of onboard storage, 2GB of RAM, Android 4.4 KitKat, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, Accelerometer, Gyroscope, microUSB, speaker, mic and a 1000mAh battery to keep everything alive.

The Rufus Cuff has been gathering funds on Indiegogo and the project has apparently already exceeded its original $200,000 / €144,592 goal by a hefty $35k / €25k, proving there's a demand for huge wearable devices. Mass production for the maxi-smartwatch will kickstart in September.
