Rough 'n' tough off-road look and feel for your Pod

Today, Speck Products has begun shipping its newest ToughSkin case, designed for the video iPods.

The ToughSkin has a rugged, adventure-proof look to it due to the double thick silicone rubber. The casing offers the best available protection and is ideal if you take your pod into an environment where dirty finger smudges, scratches and potential drops are an everyday occurrence.

If you don't frequent rough-tough environments, the case might appeal to you design-wise, and if it doesn't, you are bound to appreciate the quality feel and construction.

"This is the best ToughSkin to date. We've improved the look, feel, and functionality," said General Manager Tim Hickman. "We've enhanced the screen protector- adding a rubber ridge around the back to make it safe and secure, and we've made the 30GB spacer out of soft rubber instead of hard plastic."

The ToughSkin is also known as a better fitting case, the extra thick silicone rubber being less prone to stretching, weakening and imperfect fits that plague other cases and also comes with a detachable clip-on belt clip, so it is easy to carry around.

The Case comes in two colors, black and "clear". Black ToughSkins have begun shipping today, both in major retail stores and on-line, but we will have to wait until November 21 for the "clear" version.
