Rosie O’Donnell’s exit from The View, after a one-year stint on the panel as co-host, was anything but quiet and uncontroversial. In fact, she hinted herself that she didn’t get out of her contract early but that she’d been fired but, at the saying goes, time does heal everything.

Seven years after her explosive exit, Rosie is returning to the show. However, before you get your hopes too high, you should know that it will be only as guest, on the February 7 show, ABC News confirms.

“I have great affection for Rosie and we have remained in contact through the years. I am happy to welcome her back to the program. She is always a lively and engaging guest and a part of the show’s successful history,” Barbara Walters, the show’s creator, says.

I’m not sure if Rosie feels the same way, especially considering the things she said after she left, but at least she’s ready to put all feuding aside for a short while to do an interview.

Rosie was a co-host on The View between 2006 and 2007, and left abruptly after a falling out with Elisabeth Hasselbeck and a behind-the-scenes dispute with Walters. She later said that Walters kicked her to the curb, adding that it was “obvious” they could not see eye to eye.
