Well, that was quick! Rosie O’Donnell was brought back on The View at the beginning of the season, with ABC bosses hoping she would help boost ratings and breathe new life into the show, but she’s already decided she wants out.

In recent months, speculation about whether Rosie’s contract would be renewed has been constant, with voices saying that she was too rude and too mean to everyone on set, including Arch-rival Whoopi Goldberg, thus too much of a hassle to put up for another season.

That last part at least was true: Rosie isn’t coming back.

Page Six has confirmation from her spokeswoman Cindi Berger, who, however, makes it a point of stressing that this was Rosie’s decision, not the network’s.

Rosie and Michelle, her wife of 2 years, are getting a divorce, after deciding to split in November, the publicist explains. This means that Rosie’s 5 children need extra attention and she wants to spend more time at home.

“This has been a very stressful situation. She is putting her personal health and family first. ABC has been wonderfully understanding and supportive of her personal decision to leave ‘The View.’ Next week will be her last,” Berger explains.

So Rosie isn’t leaving because she was fired or wasn’t wanted anymore, but she’s leaving nonetheless. How do you feel about her exit?
