A turn-based action platformer where you play a masked heroine cutting corporate people down with a katana

Publisher Devolver Digital announces Ronin, a turn-based action platformer coming out later this year.

Ronin is stylish and simplistic, but engaging and thoroughly demanding, following the exploits of a heroine seeking to exact her vengeance on the five heads of a powerful corporation.

A mix between Gunpoint and Kill Bill, Ronin asks players to move with precision, plan their every step, stalk from the shadows, and then take down their opponents with swift katana strikes.

Players will be able to set up traps and plot their movements, executing the perfect strike and then melding back into the shadows, or taking the opposition on in hand-to-hand combat.

Your blade and razor wire are your best friends, but you also have a slew of other tricks up your sleeve. You can confuse and distract enemies using a holographic replicator, and you can gain the upper hand by getting into advantageous positions using your grappling hook.

Ronin offers fifteen complex missions set in an urban office environment, and a distinct Gunpoint meets Mark of the Ninja vibe, as can easily be seen in the announcement video below and in the screenshot gallery.

After The Talos Principle, Hotline Miami, OlliOlli and Broforce, it looks like Devolver Digital is hell-bent to bring us more top-quality indie games.
